International usability testing experience

Electrolux + Zanussi

Electrolux is world’s number one in home appliance. After launching new international web sites in several countries, a cross-european users testing was held to find out how users deal with the new design. Dobry Web provided the local testing for the Czech Republic.

The Testing

Two sites were tested, Electrolux.cz and Zanussi.cz, each by six users, all carefully chosen to cover all required demographic aspects. The scenarios were focused on choosing from variety of products and finding the necessary information the user need to be able to get the most suitable product.

What the Client Says

Dobry Web acted as our Czech partner in a cross-European usability study that we carried out during the spring of 2007 on behalf of Electrolux Sweden. A total of five countries participated in the study. The quality of the work performed by Dobry Web, as well as that of the deliverables was excellent. The communication and coordination of the work went smoothly and was facilitated by the high level of flexibility and rapid response times of Dobry Web throughout the project. We look forward to working with Dobry Web again!

HP

HP (formerly Hewlett-Packard) is a top computer and electronics manufacturer. During the development of a new product, HP’s usability partners from Human Factors RND asked Dobry Web to organize the local usability testing for them. That included recruitment, moderation and preparation. The project took place in a specialized usability lab at the Czech Technical University.

The Testing

The prototype of a new product was tested by a dozen of users. The scenario covered installation and basic work with the product and most testers encountered major usability problems. Thanks to the equipment of the usability lab, the sessions were recorded on the fly using the picture-in-picture technology, including an audio track with simultaneous translation.
